Our Last 100 Days – Day 100

Today officially marks the beginning of the real countdown to our departure from Italy. Over the next 100 days, we’ll do our best to bring you a snapshot of our lives as we prepare for our next big adventure. Our schedule is already packed with what promises to be plenty of travel, food, and cultural experiences. So as the first in this series, we’ll take the opportunity to invite you to join us as we purge and pack our house, road trip across Europe and Italy, travel for business and pleasure, and cook our way toward final push-back from international departures at Aeroporto di Venezia Marco Polo in just 100 days.

The sun sets on day 100 of our countdown. A farmer turns the soil on his tractor. Pianezze in the distance.

Today’s snapshot looks out over the Colli Berici from our kitchen balcony. Spring is coming fast to the hills. Morning frosts are less frequent, the sun is setting later and later every day, and it’s warm enough in the afternoon to take off your coat! From a distance, a sheen of green is appearing on the trees. Before long, it’ll be picnic weather! Already the road bikers are out tackling the climbs and soaking up the sun. The farmers of the valley are busy turning the soil for spring planting. From our balcony, for the past three years, we’ve witnessed this progression of the seasons, but we’ve already seen our final harvest.
